Lodge Manager

  • Working with the Lodge Staff to share reception, shuttle and housekeeping duties.
  • Training Lodge Staff and ensuring standards are high throughout the season.
  • Taking bookings and replying to emails.
  • Organising staff rota to ensure all cleaning is done daily, and staff are on hand for guest check ins and shuttle responsibilities.
  • Taking responsibility to manage the Lodge Team to ensure staff motivation is high, guest satisfaction is high and cleanliness standards are upheld.
  • A flexible attitude is really important.

Lodge Staff

  • Reception duties- check in, check out, answering guest queries.
  • Shuttle duties- driving guests to ski lifts, picking guests up from train station and taking guest to onsens in the evenings. Confidence driving in snow, ice and winter conditions required.
  • Housekeeping duties- daily and deep cleaning of the common areas and bathrooms. Changing beds and cleaning rooms between clients.
  • Helping in kitchen or bar-restaurant as required.
  • Odd jobs as required.
  • A flexible attitude is really important.

Bar and Waiting Staff (full-time)

  • Working from 3pm until close, 5 days a week.
  • Opening and closing the bar and front of house- turning on coffee machine, setting tables, cashing up etc.
  • Taking food and drinks orders
  • Ensuring a welcoming atmosphere- putting on music, chatting to guests etc.
  • Making drinks and cocktails
  • Running food and drinks to tables
  • Our restaurant has 5 tables+ seating at the bar areas.
  • Cashing up
  • A flexible attitude is really important.

Bar and Waiting Staff (part-time)

  • Negotiable depending on other roles- Working from 3pm until close, 2 days a week; working from 6pm until 9pm, 3 days a week, or less.
  • *This role can be combined with a job working as Lodge Staff or for Hokkaido Backcountry Club i.e. Office Staff/Driver
  • Opening and closing the bar and front of house- turning on coffee machine, setting tables, cashing up etc.
  • Taking food and drinks orders
  • Ensuring a welcoming atmosphere- chatting to guests etc.
  • Making drinks and cocktails
  • Taking Payments
  • Running food and drinks to tables
  • Our restaurant has 5 tables+ seating at the bar areas.

Kitchen Second Chef

  • Working hours 12-10pm two days a week, 3-close three days a week, 2 days off.
  • Daily breakfast prep
  • Prepping mise en place
  • Working alongside head chef to plate and serve menu dishes
  • Running the kitchen when Head Chef is off
  • Taking charge of daily specials on days when the head chef is not working.
  • Washing dishes during service and cleaning the kitchen
  • A flexible attitude is key.
  • Prepared to work in a mixed Japanese/Western style

Kitchen hand

  • Working hours 3-close 5 days a week, 2 days off.
  • Working alongside Head Chef or Sous Chef
  • Breakfast prep
  • Prepping mise en place
  • Helping plate and serve dishes
  • Mainly working cold and fryer section
  • Washing dishes during service and cleaning the kitchen
  • Prepared to work in a mixed Japanese/Western style

* There is a deduction from your pay-check for these but it is hugely subsidised.
